This is an app we created to help with dissemination of information about a Cholera outbreak that hit Malawi in 2023. The app provided daily statistics about the outbreak, how to prevent it, where you can get vaccinated etc.
NoSave is an app that keeps you from having so many disposable phone numbers in you contact list by allowing you to start WhatsApp chats with new contacts without having to save them. No more "Guy from the store by the corner", "Taxi (Gateway Mall)", "Brother's annoying friend" or "Mango dealer from south side" in your contact list. **Cause of death**: WhatsApp copyright violation(pending review).
Malawi's first fully online food delivery service(think Uber Eats). Operated across Malawi's two major cities, Lilongwe & Blantyre. Amassed over 2,000 users. Secured UNDP funding. Acquired essential service status during COVID period. **Cause of death**: Not so great business skills at the time.
Shutdown by big corporations just 5 days after it's release, Alcor was an app that simplified the way people bough data bundles and interacted with mobile money services. At a time when USSD was the main channel, it's was a game changer in improving UX of said services. **Cause of death**: I got shutdown by major bank and telcos (Plus I had pinch of naivety. Just a pinch lol)
The first ecommerce project I worked on. The goal was to be a marketplace for clothes. **Cause of death**: Being a beginner. (I was gonna say I was young and dumb but I'd be judging myself harshly. During the day walked the streets of Blantyre doing sales, trying to convince shops to get onboard and at night I'd be back in my dorm coding. I didn't know alot but I knew one thing, that I wanted to make it happen, and to the extent I knew how to, I did.)
